Robert Buchanan, age 85, of Arkdale, Wisconsin died
Friday, July 18, 2008 at the House of the Doves Hospice in
Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22,
2008 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum will officiate. Interment
will be at the Strongs Prairie Cemetery, Town of Strongs
Prairie, Adams County, Wisconsin. Military rites will be
offered at the graveside service by the Adams County Honor
Guard.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Roseberry's
Funeral Home.
Robert was born August 24, 1922 on the Wheeler Farm in
the Adams County Township of Strongs Prairie, Wisconsin to
Timothy and Rosa (Mueller) Buchanan. He was a veteran of
WWII, serving in the Coast Guard Third Naval District.
Robert married Ann Komatz on April 24, 1952 in Neshkoro,
Wisconsin. He farmed many years with his parents and with
the help of many others. Robert and Ann raised Registered
Brown Swiss Cattle. In his later years, he was the founder
and president of the Old Farmers Antique Club which he
thoroughly enjoyed.
Robert enjoyed hunting deer, watching animals eat his
crops, watching his crops grow, country music, traveling,
playing cards, and collecting antique tractors.
Robert also served on the Strongs Prairie Town Board and
the school board.
Robert was preceded in death by parents; Timothy and Rosa
Buchanan; brothers: Walter (Verdena) Buchanan;
Stanley Buchanan, John Buchanan, Lorrenz (Esther)
Buchanan, and Wallace (Alma) Buchanan; sisters: Lorretta
(Paul) Short and Lorena Buchanan; and sisters-in-law, Rose
Kramer and Kathleen Komatz.
