Mary Carol Baron “Carol”, a long-time resident of rural Friendship, passed away on November 5, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born on November 6, 1917 in Friendship to Joseph and Mary Polivka, the second youngest of twelve children.

What a remarkable lady Aunt Carol was! She will be remembered by me as a happy, funny and vibrant woman always dressed so beautifully.
She was kind and caring and will be greatly missed.
Aunt Carol was the most hospitable and generous person I have ever met. How she loved to have someone stop by to visit and talk old times, and she always had some sort of sweet ready to serve with coffee. Her smile was a delight, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She spent many happy years at her home on J, walking, tending to her flowers and garden, and her house was always immaculate. I had hoped she could have reached that 95th year milestone, but I feel she was more than ready to go, and is now safely in God’s hands. May we be blessed by her memory..
I worked with Carol. She was a delight. Always smiling. May God, family and friends comfort you during this difficult time
I will remember visiting Aunt Carol and playing cards and how fun it was to play with her. She really got into it. I remember when we were younger playing in her basement and thinking it was soooo huge. Aunt Carol was one of the kindest people I know and she will be missed.
Aunt Carol was such an inspiration to all of us. She was an excellent cook (we loved her apple slices). She loved her family so very much. We really enjoyed our visits with her and Marnie these last couple of years. She will be missed by us.
I worked with Carol in the Food Service Department at Adams County Memorial Hospital in 1973 and 1974. She was my mentor at work and we became friends. Carol was a gentle soul, with a ready smile for everyone and the kindest woman you could ever meet. We had a breakfast favorite that Carol called “hot ice cream” –> Cream of Rice cereal cooked in milk. I will always have fond memories of Carol. Debbie Sipla
