Gertrude E. Mears

Gertrude E. Mears, age 84, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship.

A celebration of life will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the Inn of the Pines in Friendship.

Gertrude was born May 17, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Marie (Cadeau) Gloster.

She graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Detroit.

Gertrude married William R. Mears on December 13, 1969, in Waukegan, Illinois.

Gertrude was an excellent cook and enjoyed taking care of her family and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed crocheting, doing needlepoint, and donating & contributing to the community in any way possible.

Gertrude was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and the Adams County Home and Community Educators Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Mears; 3 daughters, Susan, Diane & Linda, and 8 siblings.

Grandchildren:  Shawna, David, Gregg, Stephanie (Jeremy), Michael, and Justin

Sister:  Josie

Brother:  Larry

    I am truly sorry for your loss. Aunt Gert would make smile on Facebook and getting my Mom to share her views on this country. She woke Mom up, I never really could but Gert did! Still remember going to Chicago to visit as a boy, white house with big tree and a rock. Love that she was active. Proud to call her Aunt Gert!
