John C. Torpy “Jack”, age 83, of Coloma, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at his home.
Per Jack’s wishes, no services are planned.
Jack was born August 18, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to John and Katherine (Corcoran) Torpy.
He graduated from the YMCA High School in Chicago and then attended Roosevelt University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. He then received his master’s degree in English Literature from UW Stevens Point.
Jack married Elizabeth “Betty” Chandler on August 19, 1961, in Chicago. In 1968 they moved to Coloma. He was an instructor at Triton College in Chicago for many years.
Jack enjoyed photography and took many amazing photos over the past 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Betty; sons, Edward & Martin (Laurie) Torpy; stepdaughter, Roxanne Spielman; sisters, Patricia (James) Grady, and Marilyn (James) Kozicki
Jack’s family would like to thank Dr. Fred Groos at Family Health in Wautoma and Ministry Home Health Hospice in Steven’s Point for their wonderful care.
