Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Plainville Cemetery in the Town of Dell Prairie, Adams County, Wisconsin.
Patricia was born December 2, 1935 in Palatine, Illinois to Cornelius James and Lela Mae (Mortimer) Gillespie. She married Donald L. Townsend on October 31, 1953 in Albion, Wisconsin – this marriage was blessed with four children. Pat loved her family and home. She enjoyed her job as a waitress and was always ready to serve with a smile. Pat also enjoyed watching plays – especially when Gloria was in High School and later in the Sand County Players, taking walks with her dog in the yard, the flowers, and wildlife in her backyard, watching the kids play in the park filled her with joy, family reunions, drive-in movies, going to root beer stands, taking vacations with her sister, Rose in Gildon, Wisconsin.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Townsend; mother, Lela Mortimer; step-father, Morris Mortimer; and father, Cornelius Gillespie; sister, Rose; brothers: Edward Gillespie, William Mortimer, and Joseph Mortimer; son-in-law, Gordie Schenker; and grandchild, Toby Davis.
Survivors include four children: Gloria Schenker, David Townsend, Claude Townsend, and Robert Townsend; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and sisters: Corine (Jesse) Wakefield, Janice Scuddy, Kay (Karl) Pollack, and Sherry (Gus) Helling.
It was mom’s prayer that we read the words of the Bible and let it guide us in life.

Thank you uncle Dave for doing the service and the prayers today. I know it was vary Hard for you. The beautiful music and your beautiful words. I know Grandma would be so proud of her son for doing that today. Im sorry sorry for your loss and I hope we can get together this summer and calibrate grandma’s and grandpa’s life.
She was a great lady , she was in our Easton Harmony HCE club for years.
