So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was one of a kind and put a ‘spark’ into the Trailrunners events. May God comfort Linda and his family and friends with fond memories to ease his loss.
Sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was one of a kind. I have fond memories of Mike and the “Mahnke Boys” in college at Stevens Point and Waupaca. I’m sorry I can’t make it for the service and the reminiscing that I’m sure will follow. My condolences to all.
Dave and I are so saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. We’ll always remember Mike as a great neighbor at the original “ranch” as well as a fun-loving friend. His guitar picking and wonderful pig roasts were legendary. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Linda.
Mike and I met while we shared car pool rides to Steven’s Point. After getting to know him, we found our that our grandfathers had been boyhood friends. We almost lived together for 3 years, sometimes in apartments, my folks guest house and his grandfather’s house.
We share horseback adventures with Mr. Horse and Rowdy. We shared pig roasts and sailboat races and long motorcycle rides. My best memories are 4 beer chicken and quarts of Tequila with lots of PBR. I will miss him dearly.
Mike will surely be missed. He was a great friend and Colorado hunting buddy. Shared too many PBR’s to count. I will truly miss him.
What a shock for all of us. Mike was my best friend for almost 53 years. So full of life. We learned to sail together an enjoyment we shared for years. Camping was another enjoyment. Remember pig roast #1 at his brother Bob’s place in Pecatonica. A start of many to follow. Although our paths may have separated us at times our spirits were always close. You will always be loved and painfully missed
He will be missed more than we can convey. We loved him dearly and so enjoyed the times of him picking his guitar and singing. What a wonderful Uncle. God Bless Uncle Mike, we know you are singing with the angels.
We will miss Mike. We roomed together in college, played lots of music and kept the friendship going for over 50 years. Couldn’t camp last year due to covid. I was getting our backyard campground ready when we learned of his passing. A very good friend. He will not be forgotten.
many great memories with Mike. Will always remember his sense of humor. He was one of a kind thats for sure.
