Eric was born on May 13, 1973, in Friendship, Wisconsin, to Charles August and Sharon Lee (Boerner) Pollex. He grew up and attended Castle Rock Grade School and later graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1991. Eric continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Education degree in 1996 and a Law degree from UW-Madison Law School in 1999. Following his education, Eric embarked on a successful legal career. He initially practiced law in Reedsburg and Mauston before returning to his hometown to take over the family law practice when his father became a Judge. Eric also served as the City of Adams Attorney and a Family Court Commissioner.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eric had a deep passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and working on the family farm with his father and son. During his time in High School, Eric excelled as a three-sport athlete, participating in baseball, basketball, and football. His dedication and talent extended to college, where he qualified as a walk-on for the UW-Madison Football Team. Notably, he earned a scholarship in his 5th year and was a proud member of the 1993 Rose Bowl Championship team. Eric’s commitment to both academics and sports was recognized when he was named to the UW Madison Student-Athlete Recognition Team in 1996 for his work in tutoring his teammates.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncle, aunts, and a cousin.
Eric is survived by his Son, Dalton Pollex of Friendship, WI; parents: Charles and Sharon Pollex of Wisconsin Dells, WI; sister, Danielle (David) Rabl of Portage, WI; brothers: Walt Pollex of Adams, WI and Mark (Jessica) Pollex of Pewaukee, WI. He is further survived by a nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Eric’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Dear Chuck and Sharon, My condolences to you and your family. In the brief time I knew Eric, he was a very caring son and we’d visit a little when he came into the house – usually reminding his dad about a baseball game on TV. May God bless you.
So very sorry to hear of Eric’s passing. He was such a personable young man when I had him in class in high school.
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Eric in the final year of high school when I was visiting as an exchange student. He was a great friend, a kind, sensitive, intelligent person and a generous soul. We laughed a lot together. We spoke about him just this month with another friend. We are beyond saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to you all.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pollex and family,
I just found out about Eric’s passing. I’m saddened and shocked. I have nothing but wonderful memories of the time with him and the rest of his teammates and classmates. I wish it could have been more time. Eric had great drive and determination. He set an exceptional example of hard work while playing football and in his other sports and school at A-F High. May God’s Spirit encourage and strengthen you all during this difficult time.
I send my love and prayers,
Don (Coach) Caves
Chuck, Sharon & family-
So sad to learn of Eric’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Dear Pollex Family,
I am so saddened to hear of your loss, and my heart goes out to you. Eric and I were classmates throughout our school years, and I was fortunate to get to know him better in senior year through several classes that we shared together. I remember him for his warmth and his generous spirit. He was kind, big-hearted, and intelligent. He had a great sense of humor. He will always be a bright star when I look back on my memories of high school.
With deepest sympathy,
Sarah
My sincere condolences. Nothing but positive memories of Eric from high school. Prayers for strength & comfort.
When I got news about Eric, my heart became heavy, not knowing what happen, or if I ever will.
So these past few days I been walking around like I just got kicked in the guts by wild horse, and not knowing what to write, or if I should write anything at all. I will not be able to make the visit to say good by to Eric tomorrow on the 5th. So I decided to visit his place of rest today. I never been there before and did find where Eric will rest, so I got out of my car and walked over to where he will be in a very peaceful place and pay my respects and read the stones around him.
As I turned around to walk back to my car, there was two big Does standing at the east gate entrance just standing there watching me. They stayed right there until I got close to them with the car and slowly trotted off to the west end of the woods boarding the fence, as if to say follow us, and then they stopped turned around and looked at me again, then one flipped her head around as if she was saying goodby and they ran off.
And that’s when it hit me! I was having a God moment, His way of communicating with me to let me know that Eric is in good hands now, so I drove back around to where Eric will rest and said my goodby. God is like a fine stringed instrument to the Faithful that we need to tune up and learn how to tell when He is talking to us, my heart became peaceful right after this encounter. What better way would God or Eric know of way to capture a hunters attention, then with two big fat Deer.
My encounter this morning at the Cemetery with these two deer and the feelings I felt come over me at the cemetery, is what inspired me to come home and share my story of Eric.
Now that the storm has passed and the dust if starting to settle down. I will speak my heart.
I met Eric many years ago in office while Dad was still working with him. There was a goodness in him that I recognize from that very first meeting and he was always the same man now as he was then. Eric did work for me over the years and being that I get along with animals better than I do with most people, he never let me down when it come to dealing with legality’s requiring a lawyer.
One of the things we had in common that gave our friendship strength, was we both Loved our Family’s. He shared the European mounts in the back office with the story’s of that hunt written on the back of the places they were mounted on. I shared pic’s of the hunting and fishing expeditions with my kids and grandchildren sent to his cell and email that he enjoyed and always encourage me to send. Plus the pic of Festus and his mule Ruth in his office, and the great story of a mule named Ruth, that dates back to 1861 of why Festus named all his mules Ruth, in the show of Gunsmoke. ( Ode to a Mule by Ken Curtis ) The story Ken Curtis narrates will Enlighten your heart.
Eric had a great compassion that I did not see until October 2022, he was doing some work for me and called me on the same day I needed to take my most trusted companion ( Scooter ) who I loved with all my heart of 12 1/2 years out to the back yard and put him down to end the suffering of the cancer inside him. I got injured 17 years ago training a wild stallion that crippled me for life. Eric offered to drop everything to come out and help me put Scooter down and bury him for me. A couple days later I came to office to finish what we had started and before I left office. Eric came out from the back office with a wooden marker he had made where he carved Scooter;s name on it for me to place at Scooter’s grave, that is still there today.
WOW!
I knew not what to say, except, Thank you! But now I know I need to tell this true story, of this Honorable man, to show the Heart that Eric carried inside him. Eric was not just a great attorney, he was a real friend. I will miss him and that I pray to the Great Spirit to bring a comforter into each and everyone of the hearts of the Family that Eric Loved so much. I also pray that Jesus welcomes Eric into the Spirit World with my old dog Scooter to keep each other company until it is my time to make the journey to the Spirit world.
