In Loving Memory of Jon L. Lecas

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Jon L. Lecas, who departed from this world on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was 61 years old.

A Celebration of Jon’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Friendship Park, where we will come together to honor and remember him.

Jon was born on January 29, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Eleanor Lecas. His family later made their home in Adams, Wisconsin, where he received his education and proudly graduated from Adams-Friendship High School.

Jon had a zest for life that was truly infectious. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. His hands were skilled in the art of woodworking, where he crafted beautiful signs in his woodshop, a testament to his craftsmanship and creativity. Cooking was another of his passions, and he often delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings, where his delicious dishes brought everyone together. Yet, above all, Jon’s heart belonged to his family, and his greatest joy was found in the presence of his beloved grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.

Jon is preceded in death by his dear mother, Eleanor P. Lauterbach, his father, John Lecas, and his stepdad, John Lauterbach. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of those he held dear.

He is survived by his loving children: Jamie Lecas Sr. (Cheryl Pietrzak), Melissa Lecas (Nick Batzler), and Theresa Hamus; his adored grandchildren: Amara Ramirez, Jamie Lecas Jr., Caileana Batzler, Heather, Ryan, Mikey, and many great-grandchildren. Jon also leaves behind his siblings: Robert Lecas and Stacey Lecas; wife: Diane Hamus; nieces: Charlotte Mohr & Kelly Sorenson, and many cousins.
