My deepest condolences to Larry’s family and friends. My 60 years plus of visiting Easton when my uncle had the tavern and spending time with my cousin David, is still a part of my life. As a kid visiting, I got to know Larry, hanging around and swimming by the dam with the ” Easton girls ” was a daily treat. It was special when he bought Springfield Tap as then when I spent time going to our trailer in Easton, was able to stop in and talk about the good old days. He certainly is going to be missed by so many, so cherish those memories that you have. RIP Larry

  10. Barry Holloway says:

So shocked and sorry to see Larry go. I’ve known him for 7 years and was his food salesperson for Reinhart and now Performance Foodservice. As everyone knows, Larry had a heart of gold. He could be gruff at times, but that was just his outer self. I will miss talking with Larry every Tuesday morning about the local happenings. I will leave and miss that damn fruitcake that he always gave me at Christmas time! I didn’t care for, but always took him from it because I know he always worked hard to make it. And every Tuesday as I would turn to leave, I would look at him and say see you next week, Larry! And he would look up and say “yup, unfortunately I’ll be here “. Going to miss that the most. My most sincere condolences to Larry’s families , he was truly one of a kind.

  17. Erik Brekke says:

Was so sorry to hear this. Larry became a good friend to us over the past decade or more and it won’t be forgotten. He would custom start the fire for us in the garage the morning of every Packer game and then sneak out and enjoy the game with us later. Many, many, many Miller Lites and Larry’s Classic Prime Rib sandwiches later we really got to know this good man out there! The type that might semi pretend to gripe about it for a second, but would ultimately do just about anything for anyone! Huge heart underneath the booming voice for sure! In fact, he’d sometimes even privately open the bar for us for unique games –or to grill up fresh inner loins with us after a freshly shot deer– even when the bar was otherwise closed. He’d pretend like he was all upset about it at first of course, but the smiles, jokes, and personal rips would come seconds after. I know now that was how Larry showed love! He even let us hunt some of his land after we figured some patterns there–and all he wanted was good comeraderie, friendship, and some good backstrap in return. Great guy, so glad we got to know him as we did–wish there were many more years to do so! Going to miss him terribly. RIP Lar–“A Very Larry Christmas!” and “To deers, beers, cheers, a quick four years, to quashing Larry’s fears, and Go Pack Go!” one last time, my friend 🍻

So sad to hear. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Larry was always in conversation with anyone he met. He always made me laugh but not on purpose. He was so funny and a trickster. I had to laugh a few yrs ago, a customer at djs bar and grill came in with huge zucchini to give away and he really wanted the same one I wanted to make zucchini bread. We both were in conversation about who was gona make what with this big Ole zucchini. Finally when I said i Wana make a few loafs he said good, “you take the zucchini and make me bread” so I did and brought him 2 loads. He was so excited to eat it I had to cut it.for him and serve him a piece with his Miller lite… RIP Larry, you will be.missed.

So sad, Larry was always a happy talkative person anytime you ever saw him! I relish all the few times i was asked by him to come help him out at Springfield Tap because his bookkeeper had cancer and couldnt work anymore! Larry asked Dale if I could come help him out and of course Dale said yes. So I went for few months and did payroll and regular reports to state & federal government for his business. Larry was beside himself for the little I needed do for him to keep him in compliance with everything! Larry was always so compassionate to everyone of his employees and his regular great customers needing advice help or whatever! He was a Blessing for so many people!!!
