Kaitlyn J. Cavanaugh
Kaitlyn Jo Cavanaugh, age 21, of Adams, Wisconsin, passed away on May 31, 2024, in Mauston.
Kaitlyn was a free spirit with a smile for everyone, always eager to help others. She touched many lives in her short time. She loved playing games with her brothers and sister, and cuddling with her cat, Louis. She enjoyed interacting with people and cherished her job at Corner Pump. As a child, she found joy in reading to her Papa, swimming, and showcasing her artistic ability by creating special keepsakes for her Grandma.
She is survived by her Dad, Darrick (Rose) Cavanaugh; Mom, Mary (LaMonte Newsom) Wanless Cavanaugh; Siblings: Ayden Cavanaugh, Madelyn Cavanaugh, Nash Sanchez, Zion Cavanaugh; Grandma, Sally Cavanaugh; Grandpa, John Ralph Cavanaugh; Uncle, David (Sarah) Cavanaugh; Cousins, Kyla and Connor Cavanaugh; Uncle, Ben (Alicia) Wanless; Uncle, Matt (Pam) Wanless; Uncle, John Wanless; Uncle, Josh Wanless; Aunt, Stephanie (Scott) Stern Snyder; Grandma, Jean Wanless; Cousins, Alexa, TJ, Ashley, Emily and Matt Jr. Wanless, Austin, Alec and Beau Stern, Bailey Snyder.
Kaitlyn is preceded in death by her Uncle, Brett Cavanaugh; Grandfather, Steven Wanless; Uncle, Caleb Wanless; Great Grandparents, Helen and John Slaughter; Great Grandparents, Florence and Raymond Wanless.
The funeral services for Kaitlyn will be held at Roseberry Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Repose Cemetery in Friendship, WI, with a luncheon to follow at Grand Marsh Community Center.
Roseberry Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements for Kaitlyn’s passing.
I isn’t lnow her myself but I’ve heard si much about her, my deepest condolences to her family and friends as a mother myself and a student along side her 21 is too soon to say goodbye, fly high beautiful girl

To Kaitlyn’s family and friends, I am beyond sorry for the loss of such a sweet beautiful young lady. Gone too soon. 😢 My heart has been hurting for ya’ll and I’ve been praying hard for comfort of the broken hearts 💔 that everyone is and will always have. We have to remember God always has a reason thru our pain and sometimes we may never know why. ✝️ I do know she’s a beautiful Angel in Heaven 😇 and will watch over and be with you!!
I have never stayed over in the Mauston area but was staying at my Dr.’s Airb&B and got their the night of her accident. I drove by each day for a week and would stay prayers each time with such sadness. 🙏🙏🙏 It’s a beautiful cross that someone made with her name on it. ✝️
May you remember all the beautiful memories made while she was here and remember ya’ll will be reunited when God calls you home to such a peaceful place, called Heaven. 😇 That’s the only thing we can hope for in such heartbreaking times. Please know SO many are praying for everyone and watch for signs that she is always with ya’ll!🙏 🥰 😇🙏 She definitely will send them.

Thinking of your family during this difficult time!! I remember when Kaitlyn and Tristan played together when they went to Grand Marsh Elementary. Even though they grew apart as they got older, Tristan cherishes the time they had.

Kaitlyn was such a sweet girl, and one of the realest people I ever met. She is the sun in the sky on a rainy day and could make anyone laugh. She was the best kind of friend and would drop anything for anyone. I cannot believe she is gone, but she will forever live in our hearts and memories.

I met her just recently! I called her “baby girl” because she was a young free spirit. She made me laugh every day when I saw her!! A few days before she passed I took a video of her swimming in our flooded point bluff camping resort. I told her to get out and do it and recorded her!! My heart is swelling with pain right now. I’m so very sorry to her beautiful family

I have many fond memories of sitting with Kaitlyn on the bus in middle school and having countless classes with her throughout and until my last year at AFHS as a freshman. We always had the most boisterous laughs with other friends. Even after her first accident she kept going and seeing her positive messages on Facebook always made my day; she encouraged others to be thankful for this life because we only get one of them.
