Charles was born on January 22, 1943, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Carl and Pearl Asp. He graduated from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, IL, in 1961. Throughout his life, Charles lived in various places, including Rosemont, IL; Northlake, IL; Dupont, WA; and Wisconsin Dells.
Charles spent many years as a cab driver in Chicago and later retired from United Motor Coach after a long and dedicated career as a bus driver.
He had a passion for cars and speed, often racing at Union Grove, WI. In his free time, Charles enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and taking road trips—preferably to destinations with beaches. He was a proud member of the Riverside and Great Northern Preservation Society in Wisconsin Dells.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pearl, his sister Arlene, and his nephew Danny. He is survived by his children, Dennis (Sharon), Kevin, and Sandra, as well as his sisters Carol (Steven) and Mary. Charles was a loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind 2 nephews, 2 nieces, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charlie was a person of love and laughter. He was always willing to help out whenever and wherever needed. A huge hole is in our hearts that will be made less in time as we remember the good times. Rest in peace, Charlie. Love, Carol and Steve
