
Ruth Ann Hindes

Ruth was born on October 20 1945 to Frank and Vera (Koberstein) Kasten. Ruth grew up in the North Freedom and Baraboo area. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1963. Ruth, with her son Kent, lived in Lodi, WI. Ruth worked at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center as a CNA.
She and her son moved to Baraboo, WI in 1981 white she continued to work in Lodi for 35 years. She retired from the Good Samaritan Center but continued to work for another 5 years as CNA for Our House Assisted Living in Baraboo, WI. Then she finally retired after 40 years as a CNA. Ruth enjoyed bowling. She was on a women’s league bowling team with her sister Karen. Ruth also liked going to Ho-Chunk Casino with her sister and friends. She liked playing the nickel shots. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles. Ruth loved family get-togethers and pot lucks. Ruth’s big hobby was collecting angels.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vera (Koberstein) Kasten, sister June Kasten and her son, Kent Hindes.
Ruth is survived by her brother Dean Kasten (June) and her sisters: Jean Brown and Karen Reppen, her daughter-in-law Sue Hindes, many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank My Choice Wisconsin and Greenbriar Assisted Living for their help this past year and heartfelt appreciation and thanks to two staff members from Greenbriar: Melanie Arce and Taco Jeters, for going the extra mile to provide compassion and friendship. You two meant so much to her. Big thanks to Agrace hospice and the Sauk County Health Care Center for keeping her comfortable in her last few days.
