Jon “Toby” Alf Roseberry
Jon “Toby” Alf Roseberry, age 85, of Friendship, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Marshfield, Wisconsin following a recent decline in health.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Brian Beardsley will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Toby was born on October 9, 1940, in Friendship, Wisconsin, to Edmond “Ki” and Thea (Poppe) Roseberry. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1959 and proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police officer in Germany from 1961 to 1962. On April 24, 1965, he was united in marriage to Dolores Pollex in Adams, Wisconsin.
A lifelong resident of Friendship, Toby dedicated more than 40 years to serving families in his community through Roseberry’s Funeral Home. He worked with his father and Uncle Robert “Bob” Roseberry, and later took over following their retirements.
Toby was deeply involved in his community. He served as a Trustee and President of the Village of Friendship, and was involved in many youth sports. He was inducted into the A-F Athletic Hall of Fame and was a long-time member of MoundView Golf Course, where he proudly scored two holes-in-one.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his profession, his family and community.
Memorials may be directed in Toby’s memory to the A-F Golf Teams or the charity of your choice.
Toby was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Thea; brother, Anthony “Tony” (Carol) Roseberry; sister, Diane Fretwell; and nephew, William (Candy) Fretwell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores J. Roseberry of Friendship; children, Julie Roseberry of Adams, Mariann (Andrew) Fuller of Adams, and Jon “Jake” (Tammy) Roseberry of Friendship; nieces, Tracy Fretwell of Madison, Debby (Dennis) McClyman of Friendship, and Connie (Bobby) Hilson of Adams, his grandchildren, other relatives, and many dear friends.
I’m so sorry to learn of Toby’s passing. My condolences go out to all of his family . May the love and caring of family and friends help you during this difficult time.
The family of a funeral director has a unique grief, in that others seem to think they are able to process grief in a quick and orderly manner. Caregivers like funeral directors, and as an extension their families, feel the same loss as others, and that is sometimes forgotten.

Thru the.years some member of your family has been there for our families as we needed you, so I wish you sympathy in this difficult time. Although I don’t live in the area I went to. school with Roberta, Diane, Tony, Toby and LeeAnn. My brother-in-law Ralph was close friends with Toby & Tony. Many years ago my mother told me my Great Grandfather was taken by horse and buggy to Necedah for burial by Roseberry’s so you truly have touched our lives for years. Toby was always a cheerful. pleasant, person to know. He will be missed by many. May your memories sustain you during this difficult time and God hold you in his hands.

Toby was a very nice person and a pleasure to know. My grandmother (Elizabeth Brown) use to post the obituaries on the wall in friendship for many many years so we got to know him through that. He always made everyone so comfortable in their time of needs.
My condolences to the entire Roseberry family. I always looked forward to seeing Toby stop by the funeral home when I worked there. He would be asking about AF sports or how his Golf game could be so much better! I will always remember our first removal and people still ask me about it frequently. I have nothing but respect for your family Jake I am so sorry. I will miss his support for the community. RIP Toby you deserve it!

Toby was a rock to everyone who passed through the doors of the funeral home. Bob always talked about Toby coming out to the Bonnett farm to play basketball in the hay loft of the barn, w/the other “Brooks boys.”
