Bonita “Bonnie” Louise (Tavormina) Meyer
Bonita “Bonnie” Louise (Tavormina) Meyer, age 72, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, after a three-month battle with non-small cell lung cancer.
She was born on December 22, 1952, in North Chicago, Illinois, to Charles and Dorothy (Voigt) Tavormina. Bonnie attended Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, and later the Ippolito School of Cosmetology on Harlem Avenue in Chicago. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Henry Meyer Sr.; their children, John “Johnny” Henry Meyer Jr. and his wife, Amy, and Laura “Lori” (Meyer) Massa and her husband, Ken “Kenny” Massa; as well as her cherished granddog, Jimi James Massa, whose gentle, loving spirit brought her great comfort and joy. Bonnie married her childhood sweetheart, John Henry Meyer Sr., on June 27, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois—a day that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership built on laughter, devotion, unwavering love, and their passion for music and excellent food. Over the next 55 years, they created a beautiful life together, one filled with shared dreams, quiet moments of comfort, and countless memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew them.
Their bond was a true testament to commitment and companionship. Through every joy and every challenge, Bonnie and John stood side by side, finding strength in each other and inspiring those around them with the depth of their connection. The life they built together remains one of her greatest legacies—an enduring example of wholehearted love.
Bonnie proudly built a 20-year career providing in-home daycare, allowing her the privilege of being home to raise her own children while caring for many others. She considered it an honor to be part of so many young lives and treated each child with the same kindness and attention she gave her own. Afterward, she began a new chapter working as the Spa Services Coordinator at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, where she enjoyed being surrounded by an atmosphere focused on beauty and wellness. There, she formed lasting friendships with her coworkers and devoted 21 years of dedicated service before
retiring.
Bonnie was an exceptional cook who loved entertaining and took great joy in preparing meals for family gatherings and any crowd that filled her home. She cherished get-togethers, where her hospitality and warmth always made others feel welcome. She enjoyed music, never missed an episode of Days of Our Lives, which she had watched faithfully from its early days, and loved cheering on both the Packers and the Bears. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and became part of the rhythm of her daily life.
Bonnie will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her ability to make others feel cared for, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her presence touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.
