Virginia L. Krass
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin, with Father David Bruener officiating. The Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard will offer a tribute in recognition of her dedicated service to nursing at 10:45 a.m., just prior to the Mass. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the church. Interment will take place at East Arkdale Cemetery, Town of Strongs Prairie, Adams County, Wisconsin, at a later date.
Virginia grew up in Lemont, Illinois and graduated from the St. Francis Academy in Joliet, IL. After graduation she attended Little Company of Mary School of Nursing in Evergreen Park, IL. In November of 1952 she married Henry who was in the Navy. They moved to California where he was stationed. Shortly thereafter he was assigned sea duty. After his active-duty orders they moved to Downers Grove, IL. They resided in Downers Grove, IL. for 25 yrs. where they raised their family. She enjoyed 37yrs. of nursing in various areas. The last 16 yrs. of nursing were her favorite working for a two Doctor family practice in Downers Grove, IL.
In 1987 she and her husband retired to their “Escape to Wisconsin” home in Arkdale, WI. for 22 yrs. She volunteered at the Head Start program as well as helping her husband teaching seniors the defensive driving course sponsored by AARP called “55 and alive” In 2009 they moved a Terrace Heights Senior Independent apartments in Mauston, WI.
She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her gardens, fishing, traveling. Her husband and children enjoyed her cooking. Most of all she loved and enjoyed the time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Henry.
She is survived by her three children: Nancy (Donny), Ed (Lou Anne), and Barb; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Kim, Bryan (Jessica), Cody (Jessica), Shelby, Natalie (Ryan), and Dylan; four great-grandchildren, Reign, Loretta, Nadine, and Luna. She is also survived by a sister, Nita, a brother Jack, and nephews, and nieces.
Virginia would like to be remembered for having a sense of humor, sharing many stories and laughter with her husband and friends.
