Ronald Light
Ronnie was truly one of a kind, tough when needed, but always willing to help a stranger. Fiercely loyal and hardworking, he carried a larger than life personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a lifelong passion for anything with a fast motor. He loved racing quads, restoring muscle cars, collecting firearms, running RC cars, and paintballing.
Squarebody Chevys held a special place in his heart, and he could talk shop for hours at car shows.
Above all, Ronnie cherished time spent vacationing with his beloved wife, Kimberly, creating memories that will last forever. The two married on August 9, 1997, building a life centered on family, strength, and unconditional love. Ronnie is survived by his wife Kimberly; children Ashly (Dave Ratz) Light, Jenni (Justin Stefanski) Light, and Eric (Lizzie) Devore; grandchildren Hunter, Zoe, Jace, Lathen, and Lane; and his sister Sheri (Dave Rozek) Light. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron Sr. and Gloria; sister Valarie; brother Johnny; and fatherinlaw Tom Giese. Even while battling dialysis, Ronnie continued spreading joy, often bringing baked goods and smiles to his dialysis family. His legacy lives on in the rumble of a hot rod, the dust of a quad trail, and the stories shared for generations.
To everyone who visited, called, prayed, shared a memory, or simply stood beside our family, thank you. Your love is a testament to the incredible man Ronnie was and the lasting impact he made on so many lives. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Wisconsin Rapids DaVita Dialysis team and St. Croix Hospice for their care and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Racine in mid-September. Details will be shared by family once finalized.
The world has lost a truly great man. I always enjoyed picking his brain about cars whenever I had the chance. He had a wealth of knowledge and was always willing to share it.
One part of his life story that made me smile is how he was known for being tough when he needed to be. He was definitely a tough negotiator—but he made it fun.

Because while he’s no longer in pain, the people who loved him still feel the weight of his absence… especially on days like today.
To this Texas girl, you were invincible, my protector, a great co-worker and an even better friend.
Although our years of working together were short, I know you lived every single day with your whole heart, and I have no doubt you weren’t finished living. Your story didn’t end that day. It continues in every lesson, every memory, and every life that’s encouraged to live a little more intentionally because of yours.
Life is a gift and I’m so blessed you shared your gift with me even if only for only a short time.
