Theresa S. Rapacz

Theresa S. Rapacz, age 77, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away Friday, September 18, 2026.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father David Bruener will officiate. Interment will be
at the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Friendship. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship and then again on
Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

Theresa was born on April 12, 1949, entering the world just moments after her twin brother, Ron in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Esther (Smokowski) Kochanski. She grew up in Humboldt Park, where a friendship with Virginia Rapacz (Steele) introduced her to the family that would become her lifelong blessing. After graduating from Carl Schurz High School, Theresa began a distinguished 27 year career with Illinois Bell/AT&T, where she never missed a single day of work. During those early years, Joey asked her out twice—and twice she kindly declined. On his third attempt, she finally said yes, and in that moment two soul mates found each other. They married three years later and went on to share 51 beautiful years of marriage. After retiring from the phone company, Theresa went on to work for another 12 years at the Will County Courthouse before retiring for a second time.

Theresa cherished spending quality time with those she loved, whether enjoying dinners out with friends, traveling alongside Joey and her daughter, or cheering from the stands at her grandchildren’s baseball and softball games. Above all, her ultimate passion was playing Bingo. Dedicated to giving back to her community, she also spent time volunteering at local blood drives.

Theresa was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Kochanski; Father Edward Kochanski; twin brother Ronald Kochanski; father-in-law Joseph Rapacz, and mother-in-law Stephanie Rapacz.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Rapacz of Arkdale; daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Las of Frankfort, IL; grandchildren: Stephanie Las of Arkdale, Alexander Las of Frankfort, IL; Joey Las of Frankfort, IL; and Julianna Las of Frankfort, IL; niece, Tiffany Kochanski of Arlington Heights, IL, and nephew, Randy (Stephanie) Kochanski of Vernon Hills, IL. Theresa leaves behind many beloved cousins, extended family members, and far too many friends to name, yet each held a special place in her heart.
