Iona M. Hill

Iona M. Hill, age 81, of Adams, Wisconsin formerly of Danville, Alabama passed away on October 31, 2010 at her Residence in Adams, Wisconsin following a long illness.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Sam Downey will officiate.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.  

Iona was born January 22, 1929 in Danville, Alabama to Alva McWhorter and Gatie Morgan. She grew up in Danville, and married Jack C. Lindley on November 20, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1955, they moved to Illinois where they resided until they moved back to Alabama in 1980. Jack passed away April 20, 1981 following a motor vehicle accident. She later married Amos Hill and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1991.

She resided in Wisconsin since May of 2000.

Iona enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 Rummy. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting and going to garage sales. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack C. Lindley; son, Rick A. Lindley; second husband, Amos Hill; granddaughter, Brandi Robertson; sister, Hellon O’ Barr; and sister, Alta "Bell" Pruett.

Granddaughter: Tammy (Joe Jones) Robertson of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Granddaughter: Cheryl (Jim) Killilea of Onalaska, Wisconsin
Granddaughter: Jackie King of Adams, Wisconsin
Grandson: Tommy Kiefer of Illinois
Granddaughter: Melissa Lindley of Illinois
Granddaughter: Jennifer Lindley of Illinois
Step-Granddaughter: Dinah LaCaze of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Step-Granddaughter: Daphne (Dave) Schiff of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Step-Granddaughter: Sally DuBois of Port Edwards, Wisconsin
Step-Grandson: Rick (Nicole) DuBois of Mosinee, Wisconsin
further survived by her first cousin Hazel Kilpatrick, numerous Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special family friend, Rita Gianformaggio.
