Thomas V. Kens

Thomas V. Kens, age 88, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Interment will be at the St. Leos Catholic Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Military honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Friends may call at Roseberrys Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., a prayer service will be at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday evening, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church.

Tom was born July 30, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Vincent and Clara Kens. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army in the Pacific Theater. Tom married Frances Vancata on June 2, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He worked Montgomery Wards for 18 years, and retired from West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL. Tom and his wife moved to Adams County in 2005.

Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, card playing, and socializing with friends and family.

Thomas was preceded in death by parents, Vincent and Clara Kens; his wife, Frances Kens (June 6, 2010); brother, George Kens; and Sister, Dolores Natalie.

Son: Kenneth J. (Patricia) Kens of Friendship, Wisconsin
Grandson: Thomas M. Kens of Tinley Park, Illinois
Grandson: Jerome P. Kens of Tinley Park, Illinois

    Tom was a very special person to me. I took care of him at villa pines. He was one of a kind. He will be missed. i gave him a kiss on his forhead and a hug before he left villa. he will forever be in my thoughts.
