Peter W. Mahoney

Peter W. Mahoney, age 71, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away on December 21, 2010 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin following a short battle with lung cancer.

A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Peter was born November 16, 1939 in Owosso, Michigan to Edwin and Shirly Mahoney. His family moved to Kansas in 1949 and he graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1956. Immediately following high school Peter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for 21 years with several tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1978 as MSGT/E8.

Peter moved to Adams County 1976 and finished his career in the Marines as a recruiter in Wisconsin Rapids. He worked for 17 years at Castle Rock Container as a supervisor and during this time he met Joann Schoff. They were married on January 21, 1992 in Las Vegas.

During his retirement he enjoyed golf and hunting and was an avid Packers and Yankees fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Shirley Mahoney

Son: Nick Schoff of Baraboo, Wisconsin
13 grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren
