Dorothy Louise Woodbury was born November 1, 1915 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Albert George and Nellie Sofia (Wigen) Woodbury. Early years she attended school in St. Paul until in 1928 when she and her parents moved to Grand Marsh to join her brother Lawrence and help with his businesses.
On April 20, 1932 she married Merle H. Podoll. Together they operated the family dairy farm and were blessed with seven children. In October of 1961, Merle passed away in a car accident. Dorothy continued to farm with her family. On August 7, 1965 she married Glenn Frozene. They farmed and in 1966 hosted Wisconsin Farm Progress Days. In October of 1978 they retired and moved to Friendship when Son Larry purchased the farm. Dorothy & Glenn continued to help Larry and son-in-law Butch with field work on the farm. This also allowed them to spend treasured time with Granddaughters, Chrissy, Jacki, Shelly & Jenni.
Dorothy enjoyed many camp outings at the farm & Spring Bluff and wintering in Arizona. She enjoyed traveling, especially Hawaii, Florida and New York. In honor of her 90th Birthday her family took an Alaskan Cruise. Other interests included reading, scrap booking, music, dancing and in later years winning blackout in bingo.
Dorothy was a valued volunteer. She was a member of the South Burr Oak Methodist Church where she belonged to the UMW serving as President and Treasurer. The rural church held chili suppers, annual summer rummage sales, strawberry pie and ice cream socials and Bible schools where Dorothy provided many hours of service. Dorothy was a Golden Member of MMHC Partners working in their gift shop and providing baked goods for their sales. She enjoyed giving to her community by supporting the Grand Marsh Community Club, Corn n Tater Festival and Harmony Homemakers. She served as an elected school board member for many years including several terms as treasurer.
Dorothy overcame many adversities by relying on her strong faith and abundant love, which inspired every life she touched. She treasured her family as they treasured her. Her favorite quote was Im drinking from my saucer because my cup runneth over.

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Dorothy was a wonderful lady, and one of the last of the Town of Lincoln Mothers I remember from growing up. I very much enjoyed visiting with her at the McGowan House when she told me about her early life in the Grand Marsh area. I will certainly miss her.
Jenni… wish we were in Wisconsin .. Your Grandma sounded so wonderful and what a great family! You’re all in our prayers . Much Love to all of you.
Dear Family of Dorothy. We are sorry for your loss.We will remember her as a very special lady.May the comfort of family and friends be with you all in the days ahead.
Sheila and family,
I’m so sorry for the passing of your Grandmother. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you.
Somewhere along the line I met Dorothy – through my mother, Mable Goman, but I suspect she met Dorothy when she was teaching in Grand Marsh back in the 1930’s and she was Mable Shepard at that time. Perhaps Mom had some of the Podoll children in school? I remember her as being a lovely lady and Mom spoke of her often. I also remember my aunt, Clara Hoard/Zimbeck speaking very fondly of Dorothy. I am sure she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
My condolences go out to the family.
Jennilee and Family: I am sorry to hear about your grandmas passing. She is a wonderful woman and is in gods hands. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
