James H. Bitterman, age 70, of New Port Richey, Florida (formerly of Friendship, WI) died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in New Port Richey, following a long, courageous battle.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20th, 2007 at Roseberrys Funeral Home in Friendship, WI. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 20th, 2007 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Roseberrys Funeral Home.
James was born July 18, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Mary Bitterman. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Marines. He married Linda C. Tobara on November 7, 1981 in Adams, Wisconsin.
For many yrs James owned and operated heavy equipment, prior to moving to Friendship, in 1981, where he made his life with his family and many friends. James was an active member of the Moundview Country Club, where he not only enjoyed golfing, but worked as Ranger. During that time, he also owned and operated J & R Golf Car Sales and Service. When not working, he enjoyed fishing the beautiful lakes of Wis. Due to illness, he moved to Florida in 2006, where he finished enjoying life.
James was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the Moundview Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Richard Bitterman.
