Harriet Wilma Wood

Harriet Wilma Wood, age 73, of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin died Monday, May 28, 2007 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor George Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at the Easton Cemetery, Town of Easton, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Harriet was born December 12, 1933 in Brooks, Wisconsin to Ernest and Tillie (Martin) Engnath. She moved with her family to the family farm in 1940. Harriet married Robert B. Wood on December 9, 1950 at the Davis Corners Methodist Church. The couple lived on the farm for seven years before moving to their present home in Grand Marsh. Harriet worked for Adams County Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide, the Oconomowoc Canning Company as an office manager, and at the family business in Grand Marsh for many years along side her husband. The Woods recently celebrated their 56th year anniversary.

Harriet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, visiting with friends and neighbors, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Harriet enjoyed preparing meals for family. She also cooked meals for the Father and Son banquets at the White Creek Congregational Church and many other community events.

Harriet was a member of Grand Marsh Lioness, where she was the treasurer from 1978 1998. She was instrumental in the starting of the Corn-n-Tater Festival and later the Grand Marsh Area Development, where she served as secretary for several years.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents and dear family friend, Ina Hale.
