Audrey Clara Coon

Audrey Clara Coon, age 77, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Beverly Living Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Davis Corners United Methodist Church, Davis Corners, Wisconsin. Pastor Steve Miller will officiate. Interment will be at the Davis Corners Cemetery, Town of Jackson, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be at the Davis Corners United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Audrey was born June 21, 1929 in Brooks, Wisconsin to Ward Raymond and Matilda Alta (Nagles) Lake. She attended school in Brooks, WI, and Rockford, IL. She married Walter W. Coon on December 20, 1947 in Davis Corners Church. Audrey worked at Badger Ordnance, Ray-o-Vac, and several Wisconsin Dells area restaurants.

Audrey enjoyed crocheting, needle point, traveling with her family to Arizona, helping family and friends, and a special love for her dog "Snapper". Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Ward Raymond and Matilda (Nagles) Lake; Son, Alan W. Coon; Brothers Clarence, Stanley, Glenn, Arthur, Robert, and Raymond Lake; and two sisters Alice Frazer and Leota Wicker.

Sister: Mary (Fred) Steffan of Adams, Wisconsin
Sister: Grenneth (Nels) Nelson of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: Marci, Wendi, Traci, Michelle, Jessica, Paul, and Ashley
Great-Grandchildren: Brooke, Cameron, Padon, Riley
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Audrey was born at home, on a farm in 1929, where she lived with her parents and young brothers and sisters. She would tell me of her fond memories of a large playhouse that was built on the front lawn that the children all enjoyed playing in.
