Harvey John Wegert

Harvey John Wegert, age 91, of Baraboo, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at his home in Baraboo, Wisconsin surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home

in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. T. Christian Nelson will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Military rites will be offered at the graveside service by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Harvey was born July 27, 1915 in the Town of Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin to William Fredrick and Emma Augusta (Bernicke) Wegert. He attended Five Oaks School in the Town of Quincy. Harvey married Viola Victoria Baumel on May 7, 1938 in the Town of Quincy. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. Harvey and Viola raised their family of seven children in Baraboo, WI. He worked as an auto mechanic and machinist. For a time, Harvey owned and operated his own auto body repair shop, having had the honor of repairing Milwaukee Braves baseball star Hank Aarons vehicle.

Harvey and his family spent many enjoyable hours hunting and fishing in the Adams County area. He built his own boats for fishing and hunting.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Viola; six sisters, and four brothers.

Daughter: Helen Happle of Baraboo, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: 17
Great-Grandchildren: 33
Great-Great-Grandchildren: 2
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends

He will be sadly missed by his family.
