Leonard J. Matiasek

Leonard J. Matiasek, age 83, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away January 8, 2010 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Private Family services will be held at a later date. 

Leonard was born October 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Anna (Zuehlke) Matiasek. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Leonard married Lenore Mehegan on January 31, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. They shared 57 happy years together. In 1975, they moved to Friendship from Chicago where he worked for the C & NW Railroad for 30 years as a Conductor. He was known to his friends and coworkers as "The Colonel".  

Leonard loved spending time with his family and his dog Red. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. In his later years Leonard enjoyed playing computer games and feeding the birds. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Anna; one brother, George; and one sister, Gloria.

Daughter: Loretta (Leroy) Briese of Westfield, Wisconsin
Daughter: Lorinda Leach of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin

Sister: Irene (Ed) Dusek of Wilmington, Delaware
