Noma C. Holm

Noma C. Holm, age 82, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away September 18, 2009 at Our House Memory Care in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum will officiate. Interment willbe at the East Arkdale Cemetery, Arkdale, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be at Roseberry’s Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m-7:00 p.m and again at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Noma was born October 18, 1926 in the Laurence area to Harvey and Ollie Ellinger. She was raised there and moved to Brooks in 1939. She attended Brooks Grade School and graduated from Westfield High School in 1944. Noma attended Wautoma Normal from 1945-1946 for teaching. She taught in Waupaca in 1947 and in 1948 taught at Grand Marsh.  

She married Harold Holm on July 15, 1949 in Arkdale, Wisconsin at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Julie on November 3, 1957. Noma taught at Coloma Grade School during her marriage and also taught and worked in the School Administrative Office for over 30 years. She was a breast cancer survivor for forty years.

Noma enjoyed sewing, playing piano, painting and loved to travel in her and Harolds motor home.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey & Ollie Ellinger; daughter: Julie Smedbron; Brothers: Ronald, Keith and Phil; and sisters: Fae and Darleen.

Further survived by: 35 nieces & nephews and many friends.

    Noma was a sweet lady. I mostly remember her as my Sunday School Teacher. As a young girl, I thought she was the most elegant lady I had ever seen-soft spoken and beautiful. My heart goes out to you all during this difficult time.
