William Bill Raymond Nagel, age 85, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Bill was born April 21, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Evelyn (Abfall) Nagel. He was awarded a purple heart during WWII while serving in the Army in the Pacific Theater. Bill married his childhood sweetheart, Virginia Wischler, whom he met while growing up in Bangor, Michigan, on September 28, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. Soon after retiring they moved to the family home in rural Friendship.
As snow birds, Bill and Virg enjoyed their winters in Florida with friends from Wisconsin and around the US and Canada. They also greatly enjoyed their years with the Jack Pine camping club.
Bill was a lifetime member of the VFW and it was a very important part of his and Virginias lives. In October, he was greatly thrilled and honored to have participated in the Badger Honor Flight, where he traveled with fellow WWII veterans touring the National War Memorials in Washington DC.
Bill was a loving father and grandfather to his children: Sandra (Tom) Kernan; John (Judy) Nagel; and Cathy (Al) Albrecht; Grandchildren: Michael (Wendy) Kernan, Lisa (Johnny) Gonzalez, Nancy (Oscar) Carmona, Jennifer (Bradley) Trumbull, Megan Nagel, and Jonathan (Gloria) Nagel; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Dorothy McCloud.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Nagel; parents, William and Evelyn Nagel; and an infant sister, Evelyn Nagel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a veterans organization of your choice.

So sorry to see that Bill has passed. I will miss his bright smile and quick humor. He and Virg are together and and I would bet he is back to spoiling her rotten!
