Sheryl D. Gervais

Sheryl D. Gervais
Wild Rose, WI (formerly of Grand Marsh, WI)

Age 48 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Sheryl was born on January 26, 1963 at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, IL to Noe (Butch) and Patricia (Tatum) Gervais. She attended St. Josephs School in Addison, IL, until she and her family moved to a farm in Grand Marsh, WI. Sheryl was a Brownie, a girl scout, enjoyed ice skating, and had a total love for horses. The move to Wisconsin allowed her to have horses of her own. Sheryl took part in many 4-H horse shows and truly loved every minute. She finished out her grade school years at the old Lincoln School in Lincoln Township (Grand Marsh), and then attended Adams-Friendship High School. She was involved in FFA and was a Wrestling cheerleader. She graduated Adams-Friendship High School in 1981 and within a year enlisted in the Army Military Police (MP) stationed in Fort Hood, TX. Not long after enlisting Sheryls orders sent her to Germany where she met and married Michael Anderson. They were married in 1985 in Denmark while both were serving as MPs. When they were discharged from the Army they moved to Michigan where they made their home for a short while. From this marriage they were blessed with two sons. Cory was born in Michigan in 1992, and shortly after his birth the three moved to Wisconsin. Their second son Jesse was born in 1994 in Wisconsin. Sheryl and Michaels marriage continued for 17 years, until they parted in 2003, but remained friends. Sheryl worked in the office as a bookkeeper for the past six years for Mortensons Farms in Plainfield. She truly enjoyed her job, and the people she worked with, calling them her extended family. Sheryl enjoyed cooking, having parties with family and friends, and she was an avid Packer fan. She met Gary Meyer of Plainfield in 2001, and after dating for some time Sheryl and Gary were engaged on Christmas Eve of 2008. They made their home together in Wild Rose along with Sheryls sons, Cory and Jesse, and Garys son, Austin.

Sheryl is survived by her sons; Cory Anderson of Appleton, and Jesse Anderson of Wautoma, her Fiancé; Gary Meyer of Wild Rose, and his son Austin Meyer of Appleton, her mother; Patricia Gervais of Grand Marsh, and her brother; Roy (Jane) Gervais of Adams. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Sheryl was preceded in death by her father; Noe (Butch) Gervais, Jr, grandparents; Roy and Pearl Tatum, Noe and Ann Gervais, Sr, and grandmother; Betty Kostelnick.

A service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Methodius Catholic Church at Pilot Knob followed by military honors and interment in the St. Methodius Catholic Cemetery at Pilot Knob. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI is assisting the family with arrangements, (920) 622-3774.
