56 years was not enough time for Tim to do everything he had planned. He took his last call on Saturday, February 4, 2012 and rode the rail one last time to a peaceful place in the stars where he will be forever in our hearts. Tim was at home surrounded by his family when he took that call. He rode those rails for 38 years when he liked it and not.
Tim was born on March 2, 1955 and was the son of Arthur and Dorothy Zastava. He married his high school sweetheart Diane Imboden on October 27, 1973. He is survived by his wife: Diane, son: Zachary, daughter: Kristina, son-in-law: Jeff Desens, grandchildren: Max and Zola, brothers: Greg and Toby. In addition he has many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Tim would relax by heading out to the back five cutting down trees. Occasionally, this led to cutting down a couple extra trees to get one that hung up. He loved floating on the lake in the pontoon and fishing for the elusive Moby Dick that always seemed to break his line. He never missed a chance to sit back with his family and friends and relax with a good beer, a few jokes and the occasional magic trick. Never could he drive pass a casino without stopping to put in a few bucks in a slot machine to see if he could hit it big. Tim and Diane enjoyed taking road trips and thoroughly relaxing on cruises. One of his biggest thrills was being with Max and Zola and teaching them about the love of chocolate and riding on lawn mowers. He could never get enough of their hugs, kisses and silly laughs.
Tim, Diane and family would like to thank all of his friends and family for all the visits, phone calls, support and love throughout his journey.
Hold back your tears Tim wants you to have a few beers at his Celebration of Life. Join us at the Cedar Shack on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. to share some laughs and good stories.
Dear Diane and family,
I haven’t seen any of you recently so I just got the news of Tim’s passing. I am so very sorry for your loss! I’ll never forget his easy-going nature and bright eyes! A truly unique guy who was kind and caring. You were both so good to me during the years I cleaned for you. May God Bless you all and bring you peace.
Diane, Even though I didn’t get to know you or your family, my heart goes out to you. (I believe it was your mom (Rose) who was our cook at Lincoln Grade School. She was an excellent cook by the way.) I’ve learned in the last 18 months since I lost my husband (who was 54) to kidney cancer to take one day at a time. There are good and bad days but I know Phil would want me to be healthy, happy, & at peace. Always remember you are never alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dianne
Dear Diane and family
Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Tim was such a great customer to see walk through our door! He would always say that this will be the last load of whayever it was…a couple hours later he would be back and come in with a big smile and tell me that Diane can’t stand to see him not doing anything!! So start another tab for the new project!!! He took pride in how his yard looked and it showed through his humor. Even when he found out he was sick he still could smile and joke around! You have been in our thoughts and stay strong for those grandchildren he adored.
Diane and family: Sorry for your loss. It is so very hard to lose a loved one. Hold his memories close and each other closer. My thoughts are with you.

I just wanted to say how sorry to hear about Tim
I have fond memories of Tim working in his family store and going to school with him.. I was saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family..
Being a fellow rail, my time with Tim was fleeting to say the least, but I remember vividly Tim boasting about his children while at the ski hill some years ago. I am envious of his commitment to his family and my heart goes out to you at this time of great sorrow and happiness as he has ascended into peace.
Truly is sad news. I worked with Tim when I was in Adams. I am truly sorry for you loss.
