Robert “Bob” Anderson

Robert “Bob” Anderson, age 91, of Friendship, WI, died January 11, 2012 at the Emeritus Assisted Living Center in Joliet, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Martin Nolet will officiate. There will be a gathering at 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard. Immediately following the service will be a celebration of his life at Spot in the Woods.

Bob was born on December 7, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Darwin Grade School and graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1939. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946; he was stationed in France where he served as a Military Police Officer.

He met Helen Moore in 1933 while roller-skating. They married on March 22, 1941 and were happily married for 52 years. They enjoyed dancing and were active in the Eastern Stars and the Masons. They had one daughter, Bobbe, in 1947. In 1984 he and Helen moved from Chicago to Friendship. Bob lost Helen in 1993.

Bob met Mary Shukster in 1995. They quickly became dear friends and spent 13 very happy years together enjoying Mary’s wonderful family, boating, gambling, and spending time with their many friends throughout Friendship and Adams. Bob lost Mary in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Knut; his sister, Bernice; his wife, Helen; and his dearest friend, Mary Shukster. He is survived by his daughter, Bobbe and his grandson, Erik, both of Shorewood, Illinois; his nephew, Robert, of Spokane, Washington; and his niece, Barbara, of Huntley, Illinois.
