Rose Marie Pierce, age 82, of Friendship passed Friday, June 8, 2012 after a year long struggle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14th, 2012 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Ryan T. Lowery will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of service. A celebration and toast to Rose will then follow at the Adams VFW.
Interment, at a later date, will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery.
Rose was born in Adams on July 1, 1929 to Henry and Bernice (Fuller) Buck. She was united in marriage to Robert T. Pierce on April 28, 1951 and this union produced two sons, Tom and Jerry. Rose began her professional life as one of the “girls” at the telephone company for eleven years. Some of the friendships made during this time lasted throughout her lifetime. She left there to take a job at the newly opened Roche-A-Cri Clinic, eventually rising to Office Manager and retiring after thirty-five years of service. In addition to working full-time and raising a family, she was co-owner, bookkeeper and collections department, of the family business, Pierce Citgo for 20 years. She spent her free time pursuing a variety of interests including bowling, golfing, reading, card playing, camping, and many Sunday drives with her husband.
She was a longtime member of the Moundview Country Club, VFW Auxiliary, Moundview Memorial Hospital Partners, Ladies Golf League, Scarlett Madam Hatters, Darlin’ Divas Natural Red Hat Society, and several Bowling leagues. In retirement, she volunteered her time at the hospital gift shop, VFW Chic Nic, and at luncheons of other VFW members.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters: Elizabeth Cronin and Dorothy Pavilec; and her brother, Charles Buck.
She is survived by her sons: Thomas (Kathy) Pierce and Jerry (Wendy) Pierce; grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Redman, Jason (Chemere’) Pierce, Justin Pierce, and Jacob Pierce; great-grandchildren: Ally and Eric Redman, and Tyler, Tegin, and Tysen Pierce.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to those that have helped us through this period of life, including, but not limited to, The Doctors and staff at Riverview Cancer Center and the outstanding services provided by United Home Health and Hospice Touch.
My condolences to the family. So sorry for your loss.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rose’s family.
MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH ROSE’S FAMILY……IN HAVE GOOD MEMORIES OF HER SHARING LOTS OF FUN AND LAUGHTER WHEN SHE BOWLED AT THE PINES BOWL AND THE STORIES SHE HAD TO SHARE AFTER TOURNMENTS…LOVE TO ALL OF THE FAMILY
We had the pleasure of meeting Rose while playing cribbage at Mound View Golf Course. She was my partner in a grandma and grandpa golf outing a few years ago and later my partner in couples league. One memory I will have forever was when she putted out of turn and after missing the shot she said “my Dad told me to never play out of turn”. We will miss her.
Sending our thoughts and prayers to the entire family. We are so sorry for your loss.
Tom and Jerry our deepest sympathy to you and your families.

To Tom & Jerry and your families — On behalf of the Cronin family (our mother Elizabeth was Rose’s sister), I extend our sincere and heartfelt sympathy. I recall many fun-filled times as a child from Chicago in Friendship with Aunt Rose, Uncle Bob and you two boys. Aunt Rose had such a terrific laugh/sense of humor and was amazingly great – ahead of her time – at balancing work and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Betty Ann
Our sympathies are with the Pierce family. Rose will be greatly missed. I enjoyed the time Rose, Shirley, Julie, and I went to the State Aux. Bowling trip then gambling at each casino on the trip home.
I bet Bob is already in the pick-em-up truck waiting for Rose to come and do their laps together. My sympathy to Tom & jerry and families. LaVonne Scott

You have our deepest symathies. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time.
My father Charles Buck loved his little sister very much and spoke of her often. On the occasions that Aunt Rose and Uncle Bob came to the pacific northwest to see us we were always happy for the visit and well entertained as Aunt Rose had a great sense of humor. I recall being quite in awe of all the many roles she successfully managed in her lifetime. I am sorry to have not been able to see her in quite some time but I hold in my heart very fond memories that I attribute to her visits. Tom and Jerry and families I am thinking of you during this time of sorrow and I know you will miss her as much as I do Dad. Fondly Cathy
Our thoughts and prayers are with Rose’s family at this time. May it give you some small bit of comfort to know others care. Cherish always all the memories.
