Vernon C. Towner

Vernon C. Towner, age 71, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away on July 26, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.  Pastor Sam Downey will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Vernon was born July 8, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Herbert and Lynn (Lundberg) Towner.

He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959. After being honorably discharged from the Army he worked for Briggs & Stratton for 33 years.

Vernon married Cecilia Lynch on February 5, 1977 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were married for 35 ½ years and following their retirement from Briggs & Stratton they moved to Arkdale.

He loved his cats & dogs, fishing and gardening.

Vernon was a member of the Grand Marsh Lions for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Lynn Towner

Brother: Ronald (Linda) Towner of Oldmar, Florida
Sister: Ann (Michael) Thorn of Tampa, Florida
