Betty Waller of Dellwood passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The former Betty Ann Barnes was born July 25, 1935 in Jefferson County, Wisconsin to Harry and Lillian, (Miller) Barnes. In 1945 her family moved to Strongs Prairie Township in Adams County. Betty graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1954.
On September 24, 1955 she married Donald Waller at the Dellwood Lutheran Church.
They both lived and worked in Milwaukee until 1960 when they moved back to Adams County to own and operate Don and Betty’s tavern in Dellwood until 1964. Betty then worked in the home raising her three sons, and later for Melody Waves Resort for many years.
Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, volunteering at church, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers both from home and on occasion Lambeau Field. Betty was a very empathetic person. The happiness and well being of others: family, friends, and neighbors, was very important to her.

To Don Sr. and the Waller boys.
My sympathy and condolences to your family at this time. Don, you were one of the few who befriended my folks when we moved up there in 1968, and I’ll always remember how kind you and your wife Betty were to my family. I am saddened to hear of your loss. I always knew Betty to be kind person. I hope your fond memories of a loving wife and mother will carry you all through this difficult time.

As a “Dellwood Boy”, Betty was my second Mom. I have never forgotten the time that Mom and Dad left me with Don and Betty while they where out of town for a few days. I ended up having the flu, and Betty took care of me as if I where her own. I spent my childhood in the Waller house and Don and Betty will always have a special place in my heart. My heart goes out to the family.
I will miss you Aunt Betty. Your smile . You and Mom had so much fun. Hugs and love to Your Family. At This hard times.
