I lost contact with Aunt Katherine after my mother and her sister, Pearl, died. I loved Aunt Katherine’s sense of humor and loved visiting Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I lost contact with all my cousins but deeply feel their loss. So Sorry!
Heaven is singing because Katherine is there!!!!…..she was a great Christian neighbor and an inspiration to me and my sons…..She was kind, funny and full of life. She loved her family, and was a great person to talk with by my lilac bushes at the back of my property. She taught my sons the importance of community service….she always wanted to pay them for lawn or snow plowing…but I wouldn’t let them take anything but her cookies and juice. She was kind, sincere and intelligent….and always available for this young mother to just share her frustrations as well as her joys. My life was enriched with her being next door….God Bless you and know she loved all of you so much….she often told me so!!!
I remember mowing Katherine’s lawn during the summer months and afterwards she would always invite me in for cold orange juice and good conversation. The world needs more people like this lovely lady. She will most definitely be missed. My thoughts are with her family.
I remember growing up mowing Katherine’s lawn, like my bother Chris did before me. We also used to shovel in front of our house, and always make sure to help her clear her driveway so she could get out after it snowed. She was so kind, and I remember how happy she was that we used to hang out with Benny when he was visiting. A great lady, I will always remember her kindness.
Katherine was an Awesome lady! She was my neighbor growing up, and My brothers and I used to hang out with Benny frequently before he passed away. I remember Katherine’s cat Patches and I remember Harold always working on something in the basement. As I got older I would occasionally stop in and say hi to get and give updates. This last year, Katherine got to hold my daughter Leila which was a delight for the both of us. Another thing I will always remember was, no matter how old she got, she was always working outside, mowing the lawn, etc. She was very strong in her faith, and always used to tell me to pray about it if things were troublesome or difficult in life. My sincerest condolences go out to her family. She will be greatly missed!
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She lived a beautiful life. She loved her children above all. Know that she is at last with her beloved “Harold”.
Janice, I dont know if you remember me but I did numerous home visits to your mother and you were there also from the Aging Department of Adams County. I need you to know that you were an awesome daughter and took great care of her. You are to be commented for that. Now she is in heaven where she no longer needs a ride to church she has church 24/7. God Bless you for all the tender and sometimes firm care you gave your mother. Carol Johnson
