Mike attended South Division High School and went on to be a police officer in Milwaukee for 29 years. He started out walking the beat with his good friend and brother in law, Neil, moving to communications as a Police Alarm operator where he met his wife Brenda, and finished his career in sensitive crimes.
Mike enjoyed fishing and golfing with his brothers and nephews, special times at Summit Lake with daughters and grandchildren. He loved all his nieces and nephews, and even when he lost to Kelly. So as he would say “put that in your smoke and pipe it”.

Brenda,
I was at my Mom’s last night and decided to look in the paper at my Dad’s obituary. I was saddened to see Mike’s in there as well, it was the first I had heard, guess I’ve been a little preoccupied with my own families loss. Brenda, I’m so sorry for your loss. At times like this we may be tempted to say, “I know how you feel” and even though my family just lost a loved one to cancer, every loss is different and unique. We all enjoyed working with and getting to know Mike at the Sheriff’s Department. He was truly an original. I will always remember him with a wry smile on his face. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Darin
Brenda and family,
I am shocked to hear of Mike’s passing. I always viewed him as so full of life that he would live forever. He was a pistol to work with in the Communications Division of the Milwaukee Police Department. He was always good for a laugh, he always stood his ground, but in an emergency he was the guy who wanted to be in charge – because he was good and he knew no one could do it better. He was a heck of guy and I am saddened by his loss.
Brenda and family, I am so sorry to hear about Mike’s passing. Knowing him for the 3.5 years I did we saw the same side of many issues. He was a good man and he will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to you.
Sandra Green (former office Sheriff’s office manager).
Brenda and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. My prayers for you all are for comfort, peace and strength. God bless and watch over all.
It’s hard to believe you won’t be attending “night school” with us anymore Mike. Condolences to Brenda and family as Mike was one of the most down-to-earth and funny guys I know. Miss you already, Spike.
My condolences to Brenda and family. Mike was a great coworker and friend and will be missed here at Lake Arrowhead. Rest in peace Mike
Brenda, my thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Mike was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed!
You will be greatly missed on Wednesday Night Bowling. We had a lot of laughs, good times and too much Jameson.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and your family.
My sincere sympathy to the entire family. I’m so glad I was able to see Mike and his family the past few years at Summit Lake, he will be missed. I will not able to attend the services in Adams, but my thoughts will be with you. May God be with you during this difficult time.
Love Gail
Brenda and family, You are in our thoughts and prayers. We truly enjoyed Mike’s friendship, his humor and his love of life. He is now one of God’s angels watching over you. His favorite phrase will always be remembered! He always told us that he’d go to Madison and tell those politicians to “Kiss my a__” for the highway committee! We really loved that man! May God walk with you and embrace you in His arms while you heal. God’s blessing on all of you! Dean and Barb
Mike was a great man had lots of great storys to tell and lots of wounderful jokes he was a wounderful coworker at Lake Arrowhead . Rest in peace Mike keep the High life cold for me.
Mike was truly a compassionate sole who had a heart of gold. His quick witty dry sense of humor was always enjoyable. His work ethic was second to none and this was very evident up at Lake Arrowhead in which no task was ever beneath him when asked to be done. I enjoyed the years of playing golf with him on Fridays at Arrowhead and he has and will be missed by all who played.
He is out of pain and at peace. I thank God I was allowed to be part of his life.
Tracy and Cindy-
I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
Cyndi & Family,
Our family’s thoughts and prayers are with you on the loss of your father and grandfather. Treasure the memories, as we will, of days gone by when our families got together, lots of fun and laughs many years ago!! Thinking of you..
Brenda and family. So very sorry for your loss. Mike was a fun guy when he played softball with us. I liked him as a country board member too. Hold each other close and his memories closer. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Brenda, I just heard about Mike. We are so sorry. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I hope you can find comfort in the happy memories you have of your time with him. Kathy and Joe
To all members of Mike’s family. We both met Mike through the bowling leagues….also when he was involved with county government. He was a nice guy to all and he will be missed by all who knew him. Just remember the good times!
Sending my deepest sympathy to the family. When I was contacted by a friend about “Mike” I read over the obit and noted that he was in the Sensitive Crimes for his last assignment with the Milwaukee PD. I was asked by my friend if I knew “Mike,” as I was also a member of the Milwaukee PD. Way back in 1963 I was temporarily assigned to the Youth Aid Bureau, then changed to the Juvenile Division and now known as Sensitive Crimes. Having retired in 1990 after 35 years many friends on the department are now with HIM. Wish I knew “Mike” after I left the Department for it would have been nice conversing about the “old and now presently new” Sensitive Crimes Division. Have faith and believe! GOD BLESS! Don
Brenda & Family I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Mike when he became a County Board Supervisor and really enjoyed our friendship. We had many good times and I will treasure the memories – especially the Mr. Keckeisen and Ms. Ward when we had different views on a subject. Keep the memories close to you and know that he will be missed by many. May God be with you during this difficult time.
Bev
Rest in Peace Mike
