Leonard Cox

Leonard Anthony Cox, age 73, of Adams, Wisconsin died January 27, 2014 his home surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin.   Father James P. McNamee will officiate.    Visitation will be 12 Noon until the time of Mass on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.   A Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus will precede the service at 12:45 p.m.

Interment will be at a later date at Wood Cemetery, Tomah, Wisconsin.

He was born May 1, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was one of 8 children.  His mother and dad, Agnes and Sam Baldwin, and his brother Charlie, have preceded him in death.  Leonard is survived by his brothers Spencer, Meredith, and Asa, along with his three sisters, Helen, Linda, and Nancy.

On September 1, 2001 he was married to the love of his life, Betty, who, like him, loves to fish, cook at large gatherings of friends and family, and dance to country music, especially the Country Jams.  Leonard is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Kathy (from his first marriage), and his step children, Debbie, Sherry, Ted, Scott, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was employed as a Master Machinist for most of his life along with being a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and past Grand Knight for the Adams/Friendship Knights of Columbus Council for three years; a Catholic Fraternal dedicated to Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.  In addition, Leonard has taken good and total care of his brother-in-law, Jack for many, many years, a truly charitable and loving act from one of God’s children to another.

Leonard has fought the good fight for almost three years with esophageal cancer which then spread to his liver, and as a result, has now been called home to his eternal reward.

We , and a host of others, will miss and remember him for all he was to all of us. The world has been a better place because of his service to God, his country, and his fellow man….  We will never forget you, Leonard, we love you,–a great husband, a terrific grandfather, a caring father, and a close friend to countless others…..

Roseberry’s Funeral Home and Crematory of Friendship, Wisconsin is handling the arrangements per Leonard’s wishes.
