Ellen worked as a punch press machine operator at the Farnum Company in Necedah, Wisconsin for 25 years.  She made many good friends there and often reminisced about the retirement party they threw for her when she retired.

She enjoyed crafting, sewing,  and was especially talented in drawing and oil painting. In her later years she particularly enjoyed taking family and friends for a ride in “Grandma’s Cadillac.”  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always had a sympathetic ear in a time of need.  One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with family and friends.
