Virginia E. Chaffee
Virginia E. Chaffee, age 86, of Adams, Wisconsin died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Liberty Manor in Adams, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.
Cremation will follow the traditional service, final interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery at a later date.
Virginia was born September 3, 1928 in Arkdale, Wisconsin to Hans C. and Hilda A. (Erickson/Olson) Pedersen.
She graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1948. Virginia married Garland D. Chaffee on October 29, 1950 in Arkdale, Wisconsin. She worked at Picus Store in Friendship for a short time before staying at home to raise five children and help on the family farm.
Virginia enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, and driving the John Deere tractor.
Virginia was a member of Arkdale Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid at the church, Arkdale Community Club, and VFW Post #6279 Ladies Auxiliary.
Memorials may be directed in Virginia’s memory to the Arkdale Lutheran Church or Liberty Manor.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Hilda; husband, Garland D. Chaffee (1989); sister, Caroline Henriksen; brother, Norman Pedersen; brother, Roy Pedersen; and sister, Verna Williams.

Linda, Nancy ,Carol, and family, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I have many memories with Ginny even in low impact dance class or water aerobics, laugh and laugh. She was always fun to be with and always had a smile. She will surely be missed. She truly enjoyed life.

It is always so terribly hard to lose someone you love. Aunt Ginny had been through so much, it was amazing how she came back after all her previous health problems. An example of desire to spend more time with her loved ones I’m sure. I know she will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family. We have to have faith we will one day all be together again in Heaven! but it is still hard now and I know it is painful! We, as cousins have had quite an extrodanary life. All the relatives always at Grandpa and Grandma’s every Sunday afternoons. It is so difficult to lose a parent as you sadly already know. Your family was always close, and that is what will get you through theses times. You must take small steps at first and you WILL get through this. Remember the good times and when you are having a difficult time, think of some of the funny and goofy things that the Pedersen families have done together. We are here to lean on if needed. Your Mom is now with your Dad and other loved ones, a much better place. You should always be proud of who you are. I will be there on Saturday along with many others.
Losing a Mom is never easy.although I didnt know her, its still the hardest thing to go through. This I do know..my deepest sympathies for you Diana, and your family.

When I think of Ginny I remember here beautiful smile and the sparkle in her eyes. She was someone who always was interested in what you had to say and let you know you were important to her. She always made you feel comfortable and welcomed. I will miss her.
To the “Cousin 5” and Families, Larry & I are so sorry for the loss of your Mom (Aunt Ginny). I can hear her laugh and giggles, and that gleam in her eyes. I have had a lot of good times with Aunt Ginny. I would listen when Aunt Ginny and my Mom would start to talk about “things” and the giggling would start. Aunt Ginny, had a wonderful, gentle soul, which also she has passed on to her kids. Aunt Ginny had to over come some heart aches, but she always picked herself up. The Lord now has another angel, and I believe that Aunt Ginny is now with Uncle Garland. (and he can squeeze her all he wants) We are here for you, if you should want or need anything. May the Lord’s Peace be with you, all.
Aunt Ginny is like a dew drop on a rose. We will shred a tear, we will miss her. Hold each other close and remember. You will always remember and love her. We were so glad she was able to attend our wedding. We were so lucky to have her as our aunt. Hugs and love to all of you.
Cousins, you know what a special lady your mother was! The love of Garland’s life. One the the BEST cooks ever on this planet! My Mom shared a lot of stories about when Dad and Mom and your folks were young married couples. No indoor plumbing! Now that is LOVE!! I hope to make it this weekend. You have always been there for me. I love you all soooo much.
