Thomas L. Tyne, age 74, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home, after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Wendall Williams will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery in Friendship. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
Tom was born December 17, 1941 in Sterling, Illinois to Harold and Virginia Tyne.
He graduated from Sterling Township High-School in 1960.
Tom married Sara D. Sterenberg on June 17, 1962 in Sterling, Illinois. They moved to Friendship in 1997 from Elgin, Illinois.
After moving to Friendship, he worked for the Adams County Job Center until his retirement in 2003.
Tom enjoyed traveling, skiing, fishing, and spending time with family & friends.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mauston.
Tom was preceded in death by his son, Scott Tyne; father, Harold; mother, Virginia Tyne-Overholser; step-Father, Kenneth Overholser, and brothers, Bill, Terry & David Tyne.

Brother: Richard (Cindy) Tyne of Milledgeville, Illinois

Sister-in-law: Janet Tyne of Urbandale, Iowa
Sister-in-law: Kris Tyne of Rock Falls, Illinois
Further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
I just learned of Tom’s passing through the SHS Blue and Gold e.mail publication. Tom and I met in kindergarten and we went to school together through high school. Our heartfelt sympathy to you Saradelle. It was sad to open the paper this morning and see his handsome, smiling face, but thank you for sharing it in the Sterling paper for us Illinois “cousins”. So very sorry for your loss. Tom was such a wonderful man and will be missed by all who knew him. I’m sorry that we will not be able to be with you at this time, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. A memorial will be sent to the A-F Education Foundation in Tom’s name.
Uncle Tom was the most loving and giving gentleman. We will miss him so very much. Our sympathies to Aunt Saradelle and the whole family. He will leave many memories for all of us.
