Stuart
Manthey, age 79 of Friendship, WI died Wednesday, April 28,
2004 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday,
June 26th at the VFW in Adams.
Stuart was born on June 3, 1924 to George and Gertrude
Manthey in Fort Atkinson, WI. He graduated Beloit High
School in 1941. Stuart then enlisted in the military in
1941. He became a navigator and was shipped to England.
Stuart was in the 8th Army Air Force and
navigated B-25’s over Germany. Stuart was honorably
discharged in 1945 and
went to Aeronautical School and
graduated president of his class.
Stuart enjoyed woodworking, and spending time at his
cottage, and after retiring he stayed busy being on the Lake
Committee until his illness.
Stuart is preceded in death by his parents; brother
(Richard); brother-in-law (Gene McCray); and a sister
(Arlene Manthey).
