Dewane "Sam" Revels, age 80 of Oxford passed away Sunday,
August 29th, 2004 at Villa Pines Living Center of
Friendship following heart failure.Funeral service will
be 11:30 a.m. on September 2nd, 2004 at
Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory in Friendship. Pastor
Steve Miller will officiate. Interment will be at the Davis
Corners Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Davis
Corners Town Hall. Visitation will be at Roseberry’s on
Thursday morning beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of
service.
Sam was born November 22, 1923 in Hillsboro, WI the son
of Ellsworth and Emma (Crown) Revels. Sam married Rachel
Elsie Frazer on April 27, 1962. They were blessed with 42
years of marriage and two children Phillip Revels of Oxford
and Anne Revels of El Paso, TX.
Sam was a over the road truck driver for many years,
working for Overguard, Gasser Construction, Warren Coon and
the last years he drove dump truck for Bob and Craig Wood of
Grand Marsh, and also at Pine Bluff Farms. Sam was hard
worker all his life - in his spare time he enjoyed mowing
the grass, tinkering with his pickup truck, working on
puzzle books, and caring for his two cats Ferbe and Jimmy.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers
(Clarence, Roland, Leroy, and Robert); and one sister (Clara
Taylor).
