ALMA
HELEN "THURBER" CASON, age 71 of Friendship, Wisconsin died
Saturday, December 25, 2004 at her daughters home in
Wisconsin Dells following a battle with lung cancer and
secondary brain tumor.Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m.
on Thursday, December 30th at the Arkdale Trinity
Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. The Rev. Ronald
Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from
4:00 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the West
Arkdale Cemetery.
Alma was born on October 28, 1933 in Arkdale the daughter
of Almer and Helen (Bruckner) Warp. She attended the
Adams-Friendship High School graduating in 1951. She married
Dudley R. Cason on November 29, 2003 in Arkdale. Alma worked
as the Adams County Register of Deeds for 8 years retiring
in 1995.
Alma enjoyed foreign travel, being Norwegian, cleaning
and polishing Fords, refinishing furniture, raising
Pekingese Dogs and Adams County History. She was a past
member of the following organizations: Selective Service -
A-F School Board - Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church Council -
Mrs. Wisconsin Finalist - Board of Directors Girl Scout
Council – member of Eastern Star - Sons of Norway - Adams
County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers,
Arden, Harold killed in Korea, William, Eilef and Samuel,
and Sister, Irma Kramer.
