Bruce
"Big Cheese" Holsten Sr., age 67, of Grand Marsh, WI died
Thursday, February 19, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Marshfield following a sudden illness.The Funeral service
will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23rd, 2004
at Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory in Friendship.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Repose Cemetery.
Bruce was born April 10, 1936 to Virgil and Gladys (Plotz)
Holsten in South Milwaukee, WI. He grew up in Milwaukee
area. He graduated from High School and then served in the
Air Force. He returned to Milwaukee area after military
service. Bruce married Elise Ratayczak on October 10, 1959
at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
This marriage was blessed with 4 children before ending in
divorce. Bruce held many different types of jobs throughout
his life including as a security guard and a heavy equipment
operator. Bruce moved to Adams County area in 1982.
Bruce enjoyed listening to country music, especially
Willie Nelson and buying and selling used cars and fixing
them up with "cheesy" paint jobs.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and one
sister (Betty Page).
