Elmer Artus, age 88 of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin died Tuesday, January 20th, 2004 at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24th at Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory in Friendship. Pastor Steve Kaszer will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.

Elmer was born on February 7, 1915 to Frank and Mary (DeFeur) Artus in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. He worked in retail sales until his retirement in 1974.

Elmer enjoyed cookouts, the outdoors, and jalapenos with cheddar cheese and Old Milwaukee Beer. He was a member of the Lions international, and a volunteer firefighter for New Chester.

Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; wife (Violet); son (Robert).

Son: William (Lillian) Artus – Munster, IN

Grandchildren: Katie, David, Daniel Artus

Great-Grandchildren: Bradley, son of David Artus

Brother: Cecil Artus – Santa Fe, New Mexico

Nephew: David Artus – Forest Park, IL

Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until time of service at Roseberry’s.
