Roy Edward Easterly, age 79,
of Friendship, WI died Wednesday, October 13th,
2004 at the St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield,
WI following a long illness.Funeral service will be 2:00
p.m. on Sunday, October 17th, 2004 at the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams. Rev. John Krebs will
officiate. Cremation will follow the traditional services
with final interment at the Mt. Repose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at
Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Roy was born May 4, 1925 in Chicago, IL the son of Roy
and Edith (Zwick) Easterly Sr. Roy served in the Navy during
WWII. He married Dolores Kral on September 14, 1946 in
Chicago, IL. Roy worked in the telephone industry as a line
foreman. He and his family moved to Adams County in 1979
from Warrenville, IL.
Roy was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He
served the Town of Adams as a town board member and as Town
Chairman for over 20 years. Roy also served on the Adams
County Board of Supervisors for over 20 years.
Roy enjoyed working on his hobby farm, gardening, working
with animals and especially raising his ponies. He also
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and having
family get-togethers.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother
(Grace); wife (Dolores); daughter (Sandra); and sister
(Audrey Kroll).
