Dora E. Pope, age 77 of Nekoosa, WI died Tuesday, October
12, 2004 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Dora was born October 10, 1927 to Edward Cedric and
Martha (Musselman) Pope in Cortland, IL. She attended
Bradley University in Illinois, where she graduated and
became an elementary teacher. She taught for one year at
Monroe School in Hinsdale, IL. She then went to the new
Prospect School in Clarendon Hills, IL where she continued
her teaching career for 31 years. She retired in 1984 and
moved to the Nekoosa area. After her retirement, she ran an
upholstery business for about 10 years. She also refurbished
antiques, restored old cars, and ran a flea market. She
spent her life learning new things and passing that
knowledge on to others. She was a teacher until the end.
Dora was a member of the National Society of Daughters of
the American Revolution and of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. E. Cedric
Pope, her mother, Martha, and her brother, Dr. Cedric A.
Pope. She leaves behind many close friends. She will be
missed.
