MELVIN EDWARD HOLMES, age 73 of Hancock, Wisconsin died
Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the University
Hospital-Madison.Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m.,
Thursday, September 23rd at Roseberry's Funeral
Home in Friendship. Pastor Eric Hambrock will officiate.
Interment will be in the Colburn-Leola Cemetery. Military
graveside rites will be provided by the A-F VFW Post 6279,
American Legion Red Cloud Post 250 and the Grand Marsh Synder Richardson Post 273.
Melvin was born on March 3, 1931 in Wisconsin Rapids the
son of Alvin and Margaret (Gehrke) Holmes. He graduated from
Adams Friendship High School. He married Delores Strutz on
June 23, 1973. Melvin worked for the DNR for 31 years
retiring in 1986. He was also a Deputy Sheriff for Adams
County.
He enjoyed gardening or anything outdoors; canning,
fishing and hunting.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and
Margaret, wife, Delores, brother, Lewis.
