Harry Carl Riese, age 85, of
Arkdale, Wisconsin died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Funeral
services will be 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2005 at the
Roseberry's Funeral Home & Crematory in
Friendship, Wisconsin. The Rev. Ronald Hanson will
officiate. Cremation will follow the traditional service,
with final interment at the Big Flats Cemetery at a later
date
Visitation will be at Roseberry’s from 4 to 7 p.m. on
Friday.
Harry was preceded in death by his Mother (Anna Riese);
first wife (Mary Josephine Mitten); Grandson (Kevin);
Great-grandson (Micheal); Brothers (Franklin Zernia and
Walter Zernia); and Sister-in-law (Doreen Zernia).
Harry was born November 08, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
to Anna Riese. He grew up in Milwaukee, graduating from
Milwaukee Tech in 1937. Harry lived in Grand Forks, British
Columbia for a time with his aunt. He worked for Kearney &
Trecker in Milwaukee before starting his own business in
East Troy. Harry was the first Police Chief and also the
Fire Chief in East Troy before becoming a deputy Sheriff for
Walworth County. He retired in 1983. Harry was a Village
Trustee and Airport Manager for East Troy. He retired to
Arkdale in 1995 to his family’s homestead where he enjoyed
the natural beauty of Central Wisconsin.
Harry married the late Mary Josephine Mitten on February
23, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married LaVonne Schultz
on August 15, 1990 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin
