Kay (Ted) E. Ward passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 27th after a long illness.  Ted was born in Watertown, South Dakota on December 28th 1938 to Theodore R. Ward and Garnet (Sally) DeWolfe.  They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin around 1942.

Ted married Bev Clemans on March 26, 1960 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

While living in Milwaukee, Ted drove stock cars at Hales Corners, Cedarburg, State Fair Park, Beaver Dam and Slinger.  He built his own cars. In 1969 the Ward family took up snowmobiling and became active in the Easton Snow Seekers.

The family moved to Adams County in 1976 to the Town of Springville and Ted opened Ward’s Arc Enterprises and became an employee of the A-F School District – first as a substitute bus driver, then a regular bus driver, followed as bus driver-custodian for Grand Marsh Grade School and ended his career as custodian at the Adams Grade School. What he enjoyed the most were the children and really missed his bus run when he had to give it up.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, taking them fishing, vacations, visiting, working outside and just around the house.  He was very proud of his grandchildren.

Ted enjoyed building trailers, storage sheds, plant stands plus many other small items.

In his younger days, Ted enjoyed horseback riding and owned his own horse. Ted enjoyed bowling in men’s league and in couples and did so until 1997.

One of Ted’s great loves was his motorcycle.  Ted & Bev took a month in 1987 and traveled to California.  They took other trips that took them to Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois and Canada.  Ted enjoyed fishing, both from the boat and ice fishing.   He enjoyed trips to the casinos.

Ted is survived by his wife Bev, daughters Lori and Patti Ward, grandsons Jake Dahl and Caleb Molnar and grand-daughter Kaitlyn Warren, Sisters Pat (Bob) Zynda and Donna (Clarence) Willman, numberous nieces and nephews.

His parents Theodore “Ted” and Garnet “Sally” (DeWolfe) Ward, brothers Dean and Wayne, preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am until moving to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams for services at 12:30 p.m.  Rev. John Krebs will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.  Online condolences available at www.roseberrys.com
